Shooting oneself in the foot? Paid Advertising

Review Me

I wanted to understand how the ReviewMe.com service works. If you look at this site they are trying to match advertisers with blogs or websites where there is mutual interest. I signed up and waited until they said they had a match for my interests. I am not sure how they do their matching or if the clients select the matches. Here is what I learned.

Recently I was asked to review a Forex site. As a friend has an interest in the topic and we sometimes debate the merits of being long or short Sterling I figured this would be a good test review. I worked for a number of investment banks so I know a bit about Forex Trading. I was not prepared for what I found what I found.

Once I accepted the review request I went to the Forex Trading site ( http::/fabforex.com/ ) to see what I would learn. Surprise, surprise, a site full of Google ads, links and other thing that appear to offer little in the way of a Forex Trading education. Not worth the time to click through to see what might be behind all the ads. The five tabs across the top did lead to more ads so two levels of ads and nothing of substance. Some of the ads were for real estate, setting up a corporation in FL or other topics that seem to have little to do with Forex Trading.

I am curious if the site owner who asked to have the site reviewed will pay the money they committed ($10.00). May the learning continue...

Disclaimer
The preceding post has been a paid review. I hope if you read the post it’s clear that I actually looked at the site with an eye for detail and criticism, and didn’t just give it a rubber stamp of approval. IMHO this kind of review benefits everyone, the owner gets some straight-up and honest feedback (if they care) while you get an in depth review of a site without having to do it yourself. If you find these reviews to be something you don’t like please drop me a message from the contact page.
